Compass is seeking a Project Manager, Supervisor- Process who will report to the Manager, Process Division. The Project Manager, Supervisor- Process will perform project engineering and management functions, mentor project management staff.  Success in this role will be determined by timeliness and accuracy of deliverables to internal and external customers, client management, and margin maintenance by the project management group.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Review scope and estimate of new equipment projects prior to commencement of detailed engineering
  • Collaborate with inside sales and process engineering to confirm equipment suitability for intended use.
  • Aid in schedule development with project management, design and production
  • Schedule and chair sales kickoff meetings.
  • Detailed project engineering duties to develop engineering and design of process equipment including drawing development, bill of material derivation, scope of work descriptions for services and materials.
  • Review, approve, and authenticate pressure vessel drawings, piping drawings, and structural steel drawings for technical and operational suitability.
  • Review, approve, authenticate flowsheet and layout drawings for technical and operational suitability
  • Integration of commercial and technical work from engineers in other disciplines to achieve design goals
  • Provide weekly engineering and production information to key company personnel to allow proper assignment of resources to achieve project goals
  • Assist other project managers for efficient fabrication and assembly by addressing inquiries from shop personnel.
  • Enable smooth field installation and start-up by addressing inquiries from company and customer personnel on installation site.
  • Mentor, train and develop staff on project and all project related issues (client interaction, cost control, technical direction, schedule maintenance.
  • Uphold company standard practices and guidelines to ensure consistency
  • Work with Division Manager to ensure department manpower requirements are being met, and forecast hiring required
  • Provide feedback on individual performance for review purposes
  • Work with Division Manager and Director of Engineering to develop and implement internal projects, department standards, and other projects as needed

 Education, Skills, Requirements

  • Engineering Technologist or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 6-10 years of Project Management experience required
  • Project Management Education, experience in a supervisory role in oil and gas facilities, or in such equipment manufacturing are all assets
  • Proven People and Employee Relations skills and experience
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management skills
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Ability to coach and mentor Project Managers
  • Delegate work effectively
  • Quick problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Competent Current Engineering Software including process simulators, databases, and Microsoft Office Products

May be assigned other duties, in addition to or in lieu of those described above, and any duties are subject to change at any time according to the needs of the location or company.

Success in the role will be rewarded with progression in the business.  This progression could take paths of expansion both functionally and geographically.  Compass will have need for engineering management in the Process Division in both Calgary and Houston as well as specialization according to our product lines, ie. gas treating, dewpoint control
